Large roots and stumps can become an eye sore and often attract unwanted pests and also present a trip hazard. Rotting stumps can also be a host for fungal diseases. Stump grinding is a process that chips the solid portions of a stump to below the existing surface. Depending on the location and type of stump, we will grind out all visible portions of the stump nearly 8 to 14 inches below ground. The holes are generally backfilled with the resulting debris.
Usually there is a mound of debris that is left behind which we advise you to use as mulch around the existing landscape. However, upon request for an additional charge, the excess debris can be removed to leave the area flush with the ground.
